Deacon Nominations

Nominate prospective person(s) who you think should be considered by the church to serve as deacons. This is done in accordance with the church bylaws.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR DEACONS

Acts 6:1-7 & 1 Timothy 3:8-13

Duties and Expectations of Deacons

• To be servants of the church in accordance with the meaning of the word and practice of the New Testament.

• To be zealous. To guard the unity of the spirit in the church in the bonds of Christian peace and love.

• To assist at baptismal services and in the serving of the Lord’s Supper.

• To attend the deacons’ meetings.

• To serve as a council to advise and confer with the pastor and the other ministers in matters pertaining to the welfare and work of the church.

• To uphold the decisions of the deacons and to keep confidential those decisions that should be held within the group.

• To participate in the Deacon Family Ministry Plan.

• To support the church by regular participation in Sunday School, the worship services on Sunday and Wednesday, business meetings and special

activities.

• To be willing, when asked, to serve on committees and in other places of responsibility.

• Be a regular giver to the church by financially giving, volunteering and offering your God given talents.

• To work at maturing as a Christian, a disciple, a minister and a witness of Jesus Christ.

• To give, upon request, guidance and assistance to any of the church’s committees.
