New to Heritage?
Who are we as a church?
Heritage Baptist has a strong foundation of traditional Baptist worship. We are a unique congregation full of love for people and God. We practice traditional worship with a modern twist. We sing hymns and the Doxology; we pray the Lord’s prayer together. It’s not uncommon for our congregation to take part in responsive readings and we are often led in worship by members of the congregation. We embrace the value of men and women both in worship and leadership. We actively cultivate future leaders by allowing children and teenagers to take an active role in worship on Sunday mornings.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable, we will accept you for who you are no matter what you’re wearing. On any given Sunday you will find people wearing anything from jeans to suits and everything in between. We gather together to worship and fellowship, and we can do that no matter what type of clothes you’re in.
What do you have for my children?
We offer nursery from infant through pre-k for both Sunday worship and Wednesday activities. For children in kindergarten through high school, we offer Sunday School each Sunday morning beginning at 9:15. We strive to make Sunday worship a family-friendly experience. A children's bulletin is provided each week to help young ones follow along with the service. We also offer binders containing crayons, paper and bookmarks to 'save the place' of upcoming hymns and scripture readings. On most Sundays, children are invited to the front of the sanctuary for a brief Children's Moment lesson. From September-May, children in grades K-3rd grade are dismissed shortly before the sermon, for Faith Quest Children's Church, where they learn age appropriate Bible lessons through art projects and play.
What if I’m not Baptist?
People from various denominational backgrounds, including Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist, Episcopalian, the United Church of Christ, and non-denominational have chosen to make Heritage their spiritual home. We don’t believe you have to agree with us about everything in order to worship God alongside us.
